Frequently asked questions will improve  your boat rental experience. we ask you to check them out carefully 1.  What is required to rent a boat? You need to be at least 27 years old of age & have a valid photo ID and a major credit card. Also if you were born after January 1st 1988 you need to have the Florida Boater’s Education Card or equivalent in another state or country with you. If born after that date, a USCG Licensed Captain must be hired. Check with us if you have EXTENSIVE of experience and your boat license since we can  disregard the 27 age limit.   2.  What do I need to drive my own boat? You will need to demonstrate your “driving” boating skills during a 15min hands-on orientation. NOTE:  The orientation is NOT to teach you how to drive/navigate a boat and if you do not know how to drive a boat you cannot rent without captain.   3.  How much is the deposit to drive my own boat? In most cases is $500 and also you will have to provide a valid credit card details to cover any incidents while you drive the boat. The card might not be charged but a block might be necessary. We reserve the right to charge a larger deposit depending on certain circumstances such as but not limited to age, experience, etc.   4.  How much does a Captain charge? Captain’s Fee is $200 for half day & $300 for the full day. These prices are exclusive of captain’s gratuities. 
You must sign a contract.   5.  What will a Captain do aside from driving the boat? Captain’s work as a “private chauffer”, if you have plan your trip the Captain will
 follow it. If not, the Captain will suggest an itinerary according to your schedule time frame.   6.  Can I take a boat out on the Open Ocean? Only by hiring one of the USCG Licensed Captain’s available for hire otherwise you must stay on Biscayne Bay. (However all nice things to visit are inside the bay and it will be only weather permitting)   7.  Where can I go with the boat. If you rent a boat without a captain you have to keep the boat in the Miami Biscayne Bay Only (Intracoastal). North: up to Haulover Sandbar  &  South: Up to Florida Cape Light House in Key Biscayne Park. If you take the boat out of the approved zone and anything happens, our fault or yours you will have to pay to bring the boat back to Miami, also you will lose your deposit.  You are not allowed to take the boat on the Ocean on your own, No Exceptions!   If you hire a captain you can go almost anywhere. Certain restrictions will apply.

8.  Can I take the boat to Elliot Key. Elliot Key is outside of Miami so the same rules apply as above.   9.  Can we take the boat to the Bahamas ? Only with a captain (no small boats) and keep in mind that it’s not when you want to go but when the weather allows you to go.   10.  Can I bring food & drinks aboard? Yes, and we’ll provide you with a cooler to store your drinks and snacks. 
If you bring alcoholic drinks, the designated driver is prohibited from drinking as he/she
 will be responsible for everyone on board and the boat.
 Otherwise, you may hire a USCG Licensed Captain.   11.  Whats the latest I can bring the boat back? See “Hours & Schedule”. If out on your own & schedule an afternoon or all day trip,
 you must have boat back at marina by no later than your scheduled time as per the contract. We will never schedule boat after sunset without a captain.   12.  Can I take a boat out at night? Only by hiring a USCG Licensed Captain.   13.  What other fees do I need to pay aside from Rental Fee & Captain’s Fee?
 Fuel: We will determine the total consumption when your return the boat & charge you total gallons per hour used as per boat description.  *Price per gallon will vary as per market value. Tax: A 7% Florida tax is added to Rental Fee and to Fuel Cost   14. Can I Fuel the boat on my own ? No, we calculate gas on the dock per engine hour.
